Hercules and the snakes

This bronze statue is by the Florentine artist Francesco Fanelli and depicts Hercules. Hercules is shown as a kneeling child. He holds a snake in the air with his left hand; it has apparently just attacked him. He presses a second snake to death against the ground with his other hand.
