Double Steel Cage Piece

1974
modern art

This sculpture consists of two cages, one contained inside the other. The space between them forms a narrow corridor. The relationship between space and the human body plays an important role in this work. The piece is experienced completely different from outside and from within. Entering the work is a claustrophobic experience that, in a certain sense, leads to nothing: the inner cage is sealed and inaccessible.
