This work, purchased by the museum in 1979, is characteristic for Minimal Art. Since the 1960s, influenced by post-war modernism, artists have taken their quest for a pure, abstract form of art to the extreme. This is how Donald Judd made his minimalist shapes in space, from which every form of personal expression had been stripped.
