Glasses signed by the Rotterdam engraver Willem Mooleyser (c. 1640-1700) are extremely rare. Only nine are known. This goblet, in the fashion of Venice, with hollow foot and folded foot edge is signed 'Willem Mooleyser 1686 Rotterdam'. The glass has a diamond engraving with a dancing farmer and his wife and two male figures seated in a chair, smoking and drinking.
Mooleyser's line composition was powerful but somewhat stiff. He was active between 1666 and 1697.
