Birds of different feathers

Since time immemorial, man has made pictures of animals and birds. In the art after the Middle Ages, animals appear in countless guises as well - as realistic elements in landscapes, as part of Christian iconography and profane symbolism, and as a subject in their own right. The collection presentation 'Birds of Different Feathers' (29 August–29 November 2009) showed sixty drawings and prints with birds from the museum collection.
