Struycken was a pioneer of the use of computers in the creative process, having learned to program as early as 1968. ‘Blocks 2’ consists of five blocks that appear to be partially sunk in the floor. The work was created with a computer program that determined how various factors would influence each other: the length of the edges, the rotation of the blocks on their axes, their distance from each other and their colour, obtained by mixing red, yellow and blue.
