This is a group portrait of Charley Toorop's circle of friends. From top to bottom and left to right: a sculpture by John Raedecker, Edgar Fernhout, Rachel Fernhout Pellecaan, John Raedecker, Annie Raedecker, Gerrit Rietveld, Kocki Raedecker, Wim Oepts, Annie Fernhout, Pyke Koch, John Fernhout, Adriaan Roland Holst, Charley Toorop and Eva Besnyö. Toorop often organised dinner parties at her house in Bergen. This is not an actual assembly of guests, but a selection of her artist friends: painters, sculptors, a poet, a photographer and her children.
