applied arts & design

The Applied art and design collection contains both medieval china and valuable decorative items from the Golden Age and modern office items. The oldest items in the collection date from the 11th century, the newest are design objects and implements from the 21st century.

The collection contains both handmade and industrially manufactured items. Links between craftsmanship and industry are highlighted by this. The collection of pre-industrial utensils is particularly special. It was donated to the museum as part of the Ven Beuningen-de Vriese Collection.
